Attributes

Each character in HeroQuest has three attributes that dictate a number of other abilities and statistics. Those three attributes are:

Body: This attribute directly affects the hero’s health points as well as their attack level. This score is also used to determine whether the hero succumbs to some sort of physical strain such as being poisoned or knocked unconscious.

Mind: This score affects the number of spells and spell schools a hero may have. It is also used to determine whether the hero succumbs to a mental attack such as being lulled to sleep by a magical melody or put under the spell of an enemy sorcerer.

Speed: This score affects the number of movement dice a hero receives. It is also used to determine whether or not a hero avoids receiving damage from things such as traps.

First Step Level one characters receive 14 attribute points to be distributed between these three attributes in any combination. An attribute must always have at least one point in it. Following are tables that describe what abilities these scores affect.
